Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Portsmouth
Located o the shores of the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Virginia Beach is one of the Seven Cities of Hampton Roads. While it is known for a beautiful resort area, Virginia Beach is also home to those who love warm weather and ocean views from their back porches. Here you'll find many state parks, several protected beach areas, three military bases, and miles of shops and restaurants from which to choose. Virginia Beach is located on the southeastern tip of the state and is close to many other popular destinations in both Virginia and North Carolina.
Just a short twenty minute drive from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront is Chesapeake, which boasts a community filled with outdoor recreation, 10 scenic parks, and more than 30 miles of waterways. If you enjoy cultural activities, Chesapeake offers a variety including the symphony, museums, the opera, and a professional theatre. And, Chesapeake was ranked by Money magazine as one of the best cities in America.
If you love the mix of history with the trends of today, you'll love the Southern seaport of Norfolk. Its waterfront location make it an attractive place to call home, and it has a downtown filled with high-end shopping, year-round events, and restaurants offering delicious and unique fare. Norfolk is also home to Naval Station Norfolk, the world's largest naval base, and it's also close to the warm, sandy beaches of the Chesapeake Bay.

In Suffolk, you'll find a unique blend of both country living and city comforts. Founded almost four centuries ago, Suffolk welcomes its residents with a lovely and revitalized downtown, plus Main Street alive with dining and shopping to please every visitor. As Virginia's largest city, Suffolk offers an abundance of activities including fishing, camping, golfing, tennis, and a historic driving tour.
In the middle of Hampton Roads, you'll find the charming port city of Portsmouth. You'll love its central location - just a 20-minute drive from Virginia Beach - and it's home to the largest children's museum in the state of Virginia. The historic charm of Portsmouth is evident in its five museums, landmarks, and plentiful shopping and dining. The waterfront includes crusies and recreational boating, and other activities include championship golf, tennis, and fishing.
